Eye-Ethiopia Introduces "Operation Sight 2" Project in North Gojjam Zone to Benefit Over 25,000 Citizens

In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Amhara Regional Health Bureau, The Carter Center Ethiopia, and Orbis International Ethiopia, Eye-Ethiopia officially launched an eyelid surgery project named "Operation Sight II" on October 24 in Bahir Dar for the North Gojjam Zone.

This new project will be implemented across districts within the Wag Hemra, North Wollo, South Gondar, West Gojjam, North Gojjam, and Awi Nationality Zones. It aims to provide free eyelid surgery services to more than 25,000 community members.

The launch event was attended by officials from the North Gojjam Zone Health Department and its subordinate district health offices, eyelid surgery professionals, and representatives from partner organizations. Health sector leaders and stakeholders affirmed their full commitment to working in coordination to achieve the set goals and preserve citizens' sight.
