Eyu-Ethiopia Celebrates World Sight Day

Eyu-Ethiopia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Oromia Regional Health Bureau, the Sheger City Administration, eye health partner organizations, and professional associations, celebrated the 26th Global and 18th National World Sight Day at Tafo Primary School under the theme "Love Your Eyes, Protect Your Sight."

During the two-day community mobilization program, eye examinations, non-communicable disease screenings, and visual acuity tests were conducted for students, teachers, and the local community. Additionally, immediate treatments, eyeglass prescriptions, and referrals were provided, and school-based eye health education was delivered in local languages to reach the community more broadly.

For this program, Eyu-Ethiopia provided technical support as a member of the World Sight Day organizing committee and contributed financially by purchasing eye medications.

Eyu-Ethiopia will continue to strengthen such charitable activities to benefit our community in the future.
