Eyu-Ethiopia, in collaboration with the Amhara Public Health Institute / Regional Health Bureau, The Carter Center, and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, has successfully completed the 20th and final round of data collection for the ATIRA longitudinal study in Argoba Special Woreda, Amhara Region.
The primary objective of this long-term cohort study is to investigate why trachoma remains persistently endemic in specific areas and to evaluate effective intervention strategies to halt its transmission. The findings will provide essential evidence to strengthen global efforts toward trachoma elimination.
During the concluding ceremony held in Kombolcha, certificates of recognition and appreciation were presented to all data collectors in honor of their outstanding dedication and valuable contributions to the project's success.
